says he wants to follow the footsteps of Sir Elton John, who tied the knot with long-term partner David Furnish in a civil partnership ceremony last year.
He revealed to New Magazine: “Would I ever do an Elton? Year, I think I would, actually. I haven’t thought about it before but, now that I’ve been to a few weddings, I think I would, if I met the right person and felt I wanted everyone else to share in it.
“I do think its an important day, so I would like to be special.” The 27-year-old ‘Pop Idol’ winner has also revealed the fully supported the change in British law which allowed same-sex couples to enjoy the same rights as heterosexuals couples.
He added: “I think it’s a really good thing, especially because of the legal rights that comes with being in a partnership. I mean, you hear horrific stories of families taking everything when one partner dies, which is horrible. It’s about time it happened in this country too, because they’ve had it in Amsterdam for something like ten years!”
